Extended Drop for COVID Terms
In order to provide additional support to students enrolled during COVID-19 impacted terms (spring 2020, summer 2020, fall 2020, spring 2021, and summer 2021), the University is providing an extended drop opportunity for students. Prior to submitting a drop request, students should review the campus-wide extended drop and college drop requirements listed below.
Campus-Wide Extended Drop Requirements
- Undergraduate courses only (Graduate School has a grade forgiveness policy in place).
- Only available to students who have not completed their undergraduate degree.
- Available on per-course basis (in addition to the current full-semester retroactive withdraw)
- Only applicable to courses taken Spring 2020, Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021.
- Not available for courses failed due to academic dishonesty.
- Strongly recommend that students check with Academic Advising, Financial Aid, International Affairs, and Office of Veteran and Military Affairs to understand any impacts of requesting the extended drop(s).
- The Extended Drop process will only be available during AY 21-22 (Fall 2021, Spring 2022, Summer 2022).
- Approved Extended Drop courses will receive ‘W’ (withdrawn) grades. Courses dropped retroactively (past the course census) are not eligible for refunds.
