FAQs

Currently enrolled students can view and print their unofficial transcripts by accessing their myUCCS Portal. To learn how to access your unofficial transcripts, see the instructions below.  Unofficial transcripts are not available or issued to former students or alumni.  If you are a former student or alumnus, you will need to request an official transcript through the transcript ordering system.  To order an unofficial transcript please follow the instructions below:

Step 1: Log in to the myUCCS Portal

Step 2: Under the drop down in the top right-hand corner, select Records and Registration

Step 3: Select the Access Student Self Services tile

Step 4: Select the Academics tile

Step 5: When the menu displays, select View Unofficial Transcript

An official transcript is a comprehensive record of academic coursework and progress within the University of Colorado system that reflects earned degrees as well as credits accepted in transfer or by exam.

Please Note: For an electronic transcript to be considered official, it must be sent directly to the party needing the official transcript. Transcripts received by one party and then forwarded to another party will no longer be considered official.

Official Transcript Release PolicyAny financial obligations with a CU campus must be resolved before a transcript can be released. Students with access to myUCCS Portal should check the Alerts section for any holds on their account. In accordance with Colorado legislation HB22-1049 Prohibiting Transcript and Diplomas Withholding, a current or former student can request an exemption to withholding official transcripts if they can demonstrate that the credential is needed for one of the following reasons: a job application or employment opportunity; transferring to another postsecondary institution; applying for state, federal, or institutional financial aid; pursuit of opportunities in the military or national guard; pursuit of other postsecondary opportunities; an error in the institution’s administration of the Title IV, HEA programs, or any fraud or misconduct by the institution or its personnel; or if the student can show that their past due balance is covered by a payment plan in good standing at the time of the transcript request. Click on the ‘UCCS Transcript Hold Appeal Form’ link below to complete the form and submit your exemption request. You will be notified of your request decision, after which if approved, you will have 24 hours to submit a new order. You may click on the 'Request a Transcript' button above and after making an account will be prompted to fill out the UCCS Transcript Hold Appeal Form. The exemption process does not apply to international students defined as 'foreign student' in CRS 23-1-1 13.5.

Transcript Release

Paper Transcripts:  All official transcripts are imprinted with the school seal and the signature of the Registrar certifying its authenticity. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs officially sealed and signed transcript is printed on blue security paper with security toner, with the name of the university printed in large white type across the face of the document. A raised seal is not required When photocopied the word COPY should appear. A BLACK AND WHITE OR COLOR COPY SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED. The back of every page includes a Guide to Transcript Evaluation and Key.

Electronic Certified PDF Transcripts print with a watermark letting you know it is a print of the original, the original being the PDF itself, not its printed copy.

When our paper is touched by fresh liquid bleach, the document will stain. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs uses the Troy Group patented anti-fraud toner technology, which forces a bright red stain to appear if chemical or other alteration of a document is attempted. Troy Security Toner is a solution that protects all paper transcript printing.
Electronic Certified PDF:  We apply a digital signature to the PDF transcript that is automatically validated. We implement Certified Document Services from Verisign® to mark the document as authentic, proving that it was created and published by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Furthermore, the digital signature provides a tamper-evident wrapper on the document. The blue ribbon seal must be present to both authenticate and demonstrate the integrity of the document. This is automatically verified when the recipient views the authentic document using the free Adobe® Reader.

If you do not see a certified blue ribbon in Adobe® Acrobat or Adobe® Reader bearing the words "This document was certified by University of Colorado Colorado Springs with a valid certificate issued by GeoTrust CA for Adobe" this PDF SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Please contact the Office of the Registrar at 1-719-255-3361 or registrar@uccs.edu. To expedite service, please have your document ID (DID) ready.

Please note that the Office of the Registrar may have to refer you to Parchment support for specific issues, including issues with creating a Parchment account.
