Modes of Instruction

• Course section is offered 100% on campus.
• Section meets in person during the specified day(s)/time(s).
• Class displays a Facility ID (Classroom), Instruction Mode and day(s)/time(s) in the MyUCCS Portal.
• Meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.
• Section Number Display: 001, 002, 003

• HyFlex is defined as, "Hybrid with Flexibility." 
• Sections are offered as a combination of both in-person and online content.
• Class will display the Facility ID (classroom) and day(s)/time(s) in the student portal.
• Meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.
• Students should expect to be available for all of the days and times listed, and may be required to attend in-person class meetings dependent on the instructor's individual syllabus instructions.
• Section Number Display: 001, 002, 003

• Hybrid – instruction is mostly online (50% - 99% online).
• Sections meet in person during the specified day(s)/time(s) with additional online content.
• Class will display the Facility ID (classroom) and day(s)/time(s) in the student portal.
• Meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.
• Section Number Display: H01, H02, H03

Hybrid course sections are differentiated to Blended by their ratio of in person to online instruction:

• Blended – instruction is mostly in the classroom (1% - 49% online).
• Sections meet in person during the specified day(s)/time(s) with additional online content.
• Class will display the Facility ID (classroom) and day(s)/time(s) in the student portal.
• Meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.
• Section Number Display: B01, B02, B03

Blended course sections are differentiated to Hybrid by their ratio of in person to online instruction:

• Sections have been strategically structured to be offered in an online format.
• Course section is offered 100% online, meeting during the specified day(s)/time(s).
• Class will display the Facility ID (classroom) and day(s)/time(s) in the student portal.
• Meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.
• Section Number Display: OS1, OS2, OS3

Note= All OS class sections have a $100 online course fee associated.

• Sections have been strategically structured to be offered in an online format.
• Course section is offered 100% online with no required meeting day(s)/time(s).
• Class will display the Facility ID (classroom) and day(s)/time(s) in the student portal.
• No meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.
• Section Number Display: OL1, OL2, OL3

• Independent Study sections allows students an opportunity to explore educational opportunities outside the traditional classroom environment.
• Faculty work with students individually to determine course work expectations.
• No meeting pattern is blocked off on student schedule.

• Master and Doctoral degree candidates who have finished all coursework may need to be enrolled in a zero-credit placeholder titled “Candidate for Degree.”
