Diploma information

  • When you apply to graduate, you can set a unique diploma name that will be printed on your diploma and in the commencement program. This can also be viewed and updated in the myUCCS portal at any time. Please refer to our Transcript & Diploma Calendar below or on our transcript page to ensure you meet the deadlines for confirming your printed diploma name.

  • Please note: The deadlines for the commencement program vary and are much earlier than the deadline for printed diploma orders. It is best to specify a diploma name when applying to graduate prior to the graduation application deadlines (90 days prior to the date of commencement for undergraduates, refer to Graduate School deadlines if a graduate student) to ensure your name is correct in the commencement program. Any questions regarding the commencement program should be directed to commencement@uccs.edu.

  • If a diploma name is not provided or set prior to the deadlines, your primary/legal name will be used for the diploma and/or the commencement program.

  • If unsure what your diploma name is or if you want to change it prior to the deadlines, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu
  • Diplomas are mailed to students at the diploma address provided when they apply to graduate via the myUCCS portal. This can also be viewed and updated in the myUCCS portal at any time. Please verify that your diploma address is correct to ensure that you receive your diploma in a timely manner, and it is not returned to the university.

  • If a diploma address is not provided or set prior to the deadlines on the Transcript & Diploma Calendar below or on our transcript page, the Office of the Registrar will use your primary HOME address on file.

  • If you would like to pick up your diploma on campus, you can request this by contacting the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu prior to the deadlines on the Transcript & Diploma Calendar. If requested, you will be contacted once your diploma has been received. It will then be available for pick up in Main Hall 108 with official government ID shown.

  • If unsure what your diploma address is or if you want to change it prior to the deadlines, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu

  • After the diploma mailing date on the Transcript & Diploma Calendar above, diplomas can take up to 10 weeks to be received. The diploma mailing date on the Transcript & Diploma Calendar is the deadline for when diplomas will be mailed by our third party vendor. All diplomas are shipped from the East Coast via standard USPS ground shipping.

  • Diplomas that have been marked as 'undeliverable' by USPS may or may not be returned to the Office of the Registrar in a timely manner. The Office of the Registrar must wait until all diplomas have been returned before being able to verify if a diploma has been returned to the office and if a replacement is needed to be ordered for a student.

  • If you have still not received your diploma after the above timeframe, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu

  • All diplomas returned or shipped to the Office of the Registrar and not picked up will be retained for five years from the date of commencement. After five years, students must order a replacement diploma (see below). Please contact the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu prior to ordering a replacement if you have not received your original.
  • Students can visit the Office of the Registrar Online Storefront to order additional or replacement diplomas.

  • Students who have graduated within the last semester must wait until after their original diploma has shipped prior to ordering additional or replacement diplomas. Please reference the section above and contact the Office of the Registrar if you have questions.

  • It is important to verify your name is up to date prior to ordering a replacement diploma. To update your name in the UCCS Student Information System, complete a Personal Information Update Request. Your replacement diploma request will not be processed until your name is updated.

  • Notarized diploma requests must be made through the Online Storefront. Any recent graduates wishing to receive a notarized diploma must wait until after their original diploma has shipped prior to ordering a notarized diploma. Please contact the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu with any special notarization requests.

  • All additional and replacement diplomas will have only the current CU System President and the current University Registrar's signatures.

  • Students have the option to order replacement diplomas as standard/original size (8.5 x 11 inches) or display size (16 x 14 inches). Notarized diplomas are only available as standard size.

  • Standard processing and shipping timeframes range from 6-8 weeks. Standard orders are shipped via standard USPS ground shipping from the East Coast. Students in need of a replacement diploma sooner should select the 'rushed processing' option.

  • Rushed orders have expediated processing times by our third-party vendor but do not result in faster shipping methods. Rushed orders must be placed by 2pm Mountain Time on a working business day Monday-Friday to be guaranteed to ship the next working business day. Rushed orders are still shipped via standard USPS ground shipping from the East Coast.
  • Any questions regarding diplomas, applying to graduate, and/or diploma name changes should be directed to the Office of the Registrar at 719-255-3361 or diplomas@uccs.edu.

  • Any questions regarding commencement ceremonies, programs, video recordings, regalia, etc. should be directed to the commencement website.
